UPDATE: Almost 2 Years later & I’m trying CoolSculpting again, see my newest post here.

I got CoolSculpting last week. Yep. I sure did. You might have seen my stories, if you follow my Instagram.

First. Why? I’ll get asked this question a lot, in fact I already have. Well, I am for the most part confident & very loving of my body. Except my mama muffin, I just can’t grasp loving it. I’ve always had a bit of a bulge but after birthing my daughter (almost two years ago) it’s just the worse. My c-section scar has created a “shelf” that my fat seems to collect on & I don’t like it. I hide it well with supportive undies (favs!) & shape wear galore!

And I am no way shaming anyone who loves their mama muffins, we all have our insecurities. And this is mine. There is absolutely no shame in not being happy with something on your body. If you don’t like something, change it.

I have tried time and time again to loose the pooch, I’ll loose from every area of my body & then maybe a tiny from my pooch. It’s just the most stubborn part of my body to loose weight. So that’s where CoolSculpting comes in, the treatment works by freezing fat cells which die & then you shed naturally through the next few months.

My appointment was set & I had a consultation on Thursday morning to make sure I was a good match for CoolSculpting. I met with Alonah, the lead medical and aesthetics technician. Alonah was going to be my new best friend for the day since she’s the one who would get very friendly with midsection.

I jumped into the most flattering pair of blue “shorts” I’ve ever laid eyes upon (please read my sarcasm). After poking, squeezing & grabbing at my mama muffin fat for a quick minute, I was told that I was a perfect candidate for the treatment. And you know what I did?

I decided to do it right then & there…you know so I wouldn’t chicken out. The research had been done & thought this was my best option. With no down time, it was a huge seller for this mama of two.

A few before pictures later(I so regret not wearing a cuter bra), it was time to get started. First thing is they grabbed at my fat again…like a lot. This is so they can measure just the right ways to place the device on me to get the fat sucked up into the cool paneling & destroy the fat cells. Mark X the spots they’ll place the device, each X pretty much equals a hour since that’s how long a cycle is.

After I was all marked up and ready to go. I plopped myself on the bed (in a private room) & held my breath fearing it would be painful. That’s when I had my first fatty area sucked up by the device into the cooling panels. There was a bit of a pull &  pressure but nothing that I describe as painful. One side effect I seemed to have is that it gave my stomach a bubble gut/gassy feeling in the beginning of each cycle.

Alonah stayed with me for the first few minutes (which can be the most uncomfortable) & then I was left to my own for the rest of the hour. I mainly fiddled around on my laptop, answered the emails I procrastinated on, played on Instagram & watched Netflix.

If I needed ANYTHING that’s not within an arm’s reach, I’d have to buzz for Alonah. Movement from popping the device off, would mean I need to restart the whole cycle again.

After a hour is up, Alonah came in & slyly pulled the suctioned device off my now hardened fat area. Next comes the fun part I heard so much about, the massage. There is a 2 minute massage & I heard stories about just how uncomfortable this could be. I’ll tell you, it was fine. Totally & completely fine.

I didn’t grit my teeth, grip a towel in pain or swear I would do terrible things to Alonah for doing this to me. It may have been because I was expecting sheer torture or maybe my pain tolerance is a bit higher than others, either way it was fine. I was even able to record it… and talk through the whole thing.

There you go, that’s the process for CoolSculpting. Repeat a few more times for the complete treatment I had done & bam you’re done.

It is now 4 days after my treatment & I have had ZERO major issues. My midsection has been a bit tender to any major touching & a bit numb. Both are normal for the first two weeks & neither have me worried. Oh, wait. One more side effect that I had…I was very gassy for the first two days.

Not the kind that has you grabbing your stomach in cramps, just the normal farts. Normal, but in sheer honesty, I had to mention it.

I’m looking forward to showing you all my results. Full results are visible in 12 weeks but it’s possible to see some results in a month…so I’ll check back in a month with an update for y’all!

I received a complimentary CoolSculpting treatment. All opinions are 100% my own. I am not a medical professional, none of this should be read as medical advice.
