I had never been on a food crawl until I signed up to go on the MsIndependent Glisten Dine Around in CityCentre. I had no idea what to expect except trying different foods. So here we go! Let’s dive into the details of each of the five places we hit up on the Glisten Dine Around.

Bowl Barrel Houston

First we hit up Bowl & Barrel in CityCentre. I had heard great things about the place but just hadn’t had the time to get out to it. We had a chance to bowl, drink mimosas & an assortment of food. What surprised me was their Cornish hand pies, something I’d probably never order but happily gobbled up. And order again!

Next up with an adorable shop named Olive & Vine! Where we tasted to our hearts content any of the oils or vinegar they had. Oh man, did they ever have a variety to choose from, some that tops my list were the Strawberry Blush balsamic vinegar & the Blood Orange olive oil. And then they treated us with hummus made with oil from their shop!

Seasons 52 was next up on the Glisten Dine Around. We sat down and food started pouring onto the table almost immediately. As the name implies the menu changes all the time to keep up what is fresh & in season. I love that everything on the table was something I wouldn’t necessary order. The Caramelized Bosc Pear & Burrata Board is something I’d never order, I’m not a fan of fruit that’s been cooked for the most part (baked is another story). The pears were DELICIOUS, I’ve never had a pear out of it’s raw form I’ve liked but this was just beyond my expectations. Hands down my favorite thing. My husband wanted me to add his favorite thing was the Cranberry & Sage cocktail. 😉

After Season 52 the group headed to Straits where they offered a plate with three items & you might have seen me mention how I could a bathtub filled with their Honey Walnut Prawns! Seriously. I am still thinking about that prawn & we’ve already made plans to head back just for them! The vibe of the restaurant was very laid back & there seemed to be a wonderful buzz in the air.

And last but certainly not least was Radio Milano! Where we finished the Glisten Dine Around with a choice from two holiday specialty drinks; I chose the Prickly Pear. Which was fabulous & our bartender gave us great information on making the drinks. Like how they double strain things with seeds (like blackberries) to get a smooth drink.

Going in, I had no expectations honestly. I just thought I’d be a happy lady with food in front of me. And boy was I! One of my favorite things was that there was no ordering, just food being put in front of you. It’s so easy to get into the rut of doing & ordering the same ole’ same, but this shook things up a bit.

Thank you to Erin from MsIndependent for hosting such a well planned & amazing event!
