First off, thank you so much to Le Pavillon in New Orleans, LA for hosting our stay & inviting us to a much enjoyed weekend away.
This was our first weekend away from our children alone, EVER. And we couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque stay in New Orleans! I wanted to breakdown my absolute favorite parts of our Le Pavillon Hotel stay.
Y’all the chandeliers that grace the hallways, restaurant & bar of the Le Pavillon are just enchanting! And they should be, the 11 crystal chandeliers in the lobby were purchased in Czechoslovakia, along with their sister sconces that also adorn the lobby.
Details, details, details
I talked about it the whole time on my Instagram stories, the details in the Le Pavillon Hotel were just amazing! My husband often caught me staring at the molding, eyeing the beautiful antiques that adorned the hallway & grand entry. But not only the beautiful details of the antique door handles, hinges & heavy wood doors (yes, all of those things catch my attention) but the little modern amenities. Like can we say an AMEN for free wi-fi, luxury toiletries (Molton Brown!), back lite vanity mirror for the perfect makeup application, easy plug ins on the nightstands to charge your devices, a modern bathroom with amazing shower pressure & again the MOLDING! Ahh it was everywhere & just as charming as can be .
The Rooftop Pool
Even though we visited in January, we were able to enjoy the views of the rooftop pool & deck. The area has amazing view & the way the sunset reflected off the buildings & bridge..it was magical. I hope we get to visit during a warmer time with the kids, because I couldn’t stop thinking how much Micah would just adore this pool area (actually the whole stay, he likes “old things”).
The Le Pavillon has a rich history, no wonder it was places in the National Register of Historic Places & a member of the Historic Hotels of America. The land exchanged hands several times from being the site for a railroad depot, an entertainment venue & then an exquisite hotel that also had a few name changes & exchange of hands before becoming the now known Le Pavillion Hotel.
One story I read (y’all I fell deep down the rabbit hole of research) states the the female portrait in the Crystal Room when bought came with stipulations that included that the painting would be the only female in whatever room it was hung in & it was never to leave New Orleans.
Le Pavillion Hotel peanut butter & jelly sandwiches promptly at 10pm is a big deal! Seriously, google the hotel and it will suggest if you want to also google pb&j! So we had to partake in the tradition along with a cup of hot cocoa in the lobby. And fun fact: I grabbed an extra, put it in my pocket & promptly forgot about it until the next morning when I shoved my hand in my pocket! Ha!
First off, brunch is in the Crystal room! How fabulous is that? The crystal room has an insane chandelier prominently hanging in the middle of the room & when the light comes through it illuminates the room with a warmth. It was just an ideal way to brunch myself silly, I mean you can see that we thoroughly enjoyed brunch at Le Pavillion..because that was round 1 of our brunch! By the way, that painting I talked about above…that’s her in the Crystal Room above the fireplace!
I lied, I had to add that the staff at Le Pavillon Hotel in New Orleans were so fun to talk to! At the nightly PB&J, I had a chance to talk to one employee that told me the history of the hotel, fun tales of New Orleans & entertained my millions of questions. And the bell boy that was beyond peppy & helpful when we were checking in and just wanted to eat dinner before even going to our room.
