Documenting more of my home projects along with our tips for getting the most bang for your buck while decorating a home has been on my to-do list for quite a while! So here we are, I’m sharing the three rooms we want to tackle in the next 3 months.

Back Porch

We’ve steadily worked on our back porch to create a serene space that is in the end stretch. Our back porch was originally a beat up screened in patio, the screens were so caked in dirt that no amount of cleaning would help. So one weekend I just went for it, I tore out all the screening & after lots of back and forth..this is slowly turning into the patio of my dream.

What’s next for the covered porch? Painting both the ceiling & floors white to match the white brick & wood. Cutting out a piece of the wood wall to snake the hose through it so it won’t sit on the porch all the time. Adding in furniture (we currently have some folding chairs & an old table out there), I’d love to see two cozy outdoor chairs, a bamboo loveseat along with somewhere to set my favorite drink.

Playroom/Office

Oh. My. Gosh. This room is going to be the hardest, it’s one of the largest rooms in our house as it is a converted two car garage. It’s been a dumping grounds for all the things. So, just say a little prayer for me because I might cry…like a lot during this project. But it’s one of the first things you see when you walk into our house, it’s just to the right of our front door & I want to bury my head in the ground anytime someone comes over and takes a peek into it.

What’s the plan for the playroom/office? I’d like to also remove the popcorn ceiling, this is the ONLY room with popcorn ceilings in our home. And it’s just not an attractive look. I’ll be freshening the white paint in some area where the kids did a number to the wall, possibly adding wallpaper.

New furniture is a must, it’s a modge podge of whatever in this room…does everyone have one of these rooms? The sad leftovers room? This room is full of random chairs, donation bags from closet clean outs & just so much random junk. I’m on the hunt for a sofa, rug & desk plus chairs.

Hall/Kid’s Bathroom

The hallway bathroom is a quick weekend project that just needs some refreshing I realized after buying a new shower curtain for it recently. The plans for this bathroom are new paint (possibly wallpaper), freshen up the floor tile grout, matching hardware (toilet paper roll holder, towels hooks) along with something a bit more colorful over the toilet.
