Sugar cookies in our house are usually covered in layers of sprinkles & more icing than cookie when the kids get a hold of them to decorate. Although I love the memories I make with the kids with baking and decorating, that isn’t something I’d put out for my holiday dessert bar for the adults.
So I’m sharing 3 of the EASIEST ways to elevate your Pillsbury Sugar Cookies that are sure to wow, I was honestly BLOWN AWAY when I took all these cookies to a couples group I am a part of & everyone was asking for the recipes for these cookies.
First off, I baked up a few dozen sugar cookies which were a breeze because I picked up the 3 lb Pillsbury Sugar Cookie box up while I was at Sam’s Club. They are just so simple, place them on a pan, bake & boom you have dozens of cookies without dozens of dirty dishes!
After I let all the cookies completely cool off I went to work decorating them in a manner that would be pleasing to the eye but oh so yummy! For the chocolate covered sugar cookies, I used melting chocolate to create a simple yet pleasing desert.
I set out wax paper for the chocolate decorating since I am known to be a bit of a messy baker. Next I took a spoon that I dipped into the melted chocolate & softly flicked it over some cookies to give them a splatter of chocolate. After I was finished splattering some cookies with chocolate I dipped the other sugar cookies half in chocolate & when the chocolate was still wet I dipped them into almond slivers.
Ok, I saved my personal favorite last, the cream cheese iced sugar cookies are so good that your eyes will roll back in your head! SO GOOD!
Cream Cheese Icing:
1 – 8 oz brick of cream cheese, softened
1/3 c powdered sugar
2 tsp of almond extract
Mix all ingredients together until well blended.
Spread onto cooled Pillsbury sugar cookies & top with blueberries
Along with giving my sugar cookies an upgrade, I also give my Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate Brownies (which I also buy in bulk at Sam’s Club!) a little addition of something special. This time I added a tablespoon of vanilla extract along with a cup of walnuts to really elevate them for my friends!
