Thank you I Love Ice Cream Cakes for sponsoring this post. Make I Love Ice Cream Cakes the centerpiece at your gathering and find an ice cream cake in a grocery store near you!

Ice Cream cakes are a favorite in my family, hands down a winner everytime! And luckily I can pick one up so easily, add a few touches & have a winning cake on my hands! My little sister is graduating from high school this year & as we had a dinner to celebrate her graduation early (since we’ll be out of town), I just had to bring an Ice Cream cake!! So while I was at Kroger I picked one up along with some chocolate to melt down & pour all over! The Ice Cream Cakes come in many different styles and sizes, including original Carvel®, Jon Donaire® and OREO®. You can see where’s the closest place to grab on from the I Love Ice Cream Cakes product locator!

With just a few quick changes I turned this delicious Ice Cream cake into a “ohhh yeah, I totally made this!” cake. I mean…I did melt dark chocolate, pour it over the entire cake, add gold flakes & decorate it…so I made it right? Hahah I never take the credit because…well I don’t know how to make an Ice Cream cake & just direct everyone to the freezer section of their grocery store bakery instead!

First I like to smooth the frosting out on the cake, which my little assistant loves helping with…and maybe licking a spoon or two (check out those cheeks filled with frosting). And then I melt my chocolate according to the directions, the cake needs to be straight out of the freezer so it doesn’t get soft/melt on you when applying the chocolate. When the chocolate is still soft sprinkle on any sprinkles, gold flakes or decor you need to stick to it.

I love taking skewers & gluing photos, pom poms or any decor to  them for quick and easy personalized decor on the cheap! I simply print out pictures, glue them to stock paper & sandwich between a skewer for a quick personalized Ice Cream Cake that anyone can do!

Do you personalize your store bought cakes to add extra pizazz?
