After 30 days of being challenged by Frost bank to put my optimism forward I can say that it’s made a difference in my day to day, but maybe not in the way you think.

Letting it rub off on others

I found that as I spoke to people that my optimism & hope would rub off a bit onto them. I had someone recently telling me about how work was going so horribly, so I asked her what things were going well in her life? I mean, why dwell on that one nagging area on our lives when we are so beyond blessed in so many other parts of our lives? So I’ve been moving conversations around, of course I’ll let you spill your soul about what’s going wrong but I’ll also try to show you how much is going RIGHT in your life! And same goes for me, whenever I whine about this or that going wrong, I stop myself in my tracks & focus on the flip side.

Happy Mom, Happy Kids

There is a trickle effect when you change your mindset to a positive one, everyone around you takes notice. They might not say anything, but because well that’s just who we are as people usually but they notice. Maybe it’s being extra kind, shrugging off when your son breaks your outdoor lights with a ball, laughing when you find toys in your shoes or sneaking your kids a little bit of cake before dinner (even though dad totally knows, but it’s just so much more fun to sneak it). Those tiny things add up & trickle on down to the whole household.

Keep Active

Just like anything else, if you stop training your mind to think of the up side…well you can easily fall into bad habits. Just the other day I was so mad over boxes…yes boxes. I was in tears because I was getting so much mail & couldn’t keep up with breaking down boxes and putting them into recycling. Seriously, I cried but most of the boxes were packages that were for upcoming blog or social media posts…so they equaled something going VERY right but all I could see is the mess in it all at that moment. But then I snapped myself out of it & flipped it to that awesome silver lining.

Thank you Frost Bank for having me Opt for Optimism!
