I love the start of spring, it ignites a flame in me to declutter, clean out my closet and refresh my wardrobe and home with fresh items. Today I partnered with Goodwill to share how from donating to shopping supports your local community & creates jobs.

Declutter & Donate – Give it to Goodwill

First things first, I can’t start bringing anything new into my house if I haven’t done my yearly spring decluttering. I’m ruthless when I get started with two black trash bags, one for Goodwill donations & another for trash. I start with a general sweep of the house collecting things right off the bat that I know are no longer needed in my house (we don’t use, have multiples of, broken, etc). Afterwards I go room by room for deeper declutter but the black trash bags from room to room is something I’ll do whenever I feel overwhelmed by things in general, it feels like weight has been instantly lifted off your shoulders! IMMEDIATLY after filling those bags you need to put the trash in the trash & the donations in your trunk! Believe me, it’s too tempting to set the donation bag to the side and forget about it for months! So please, just put it in your trunk so the next time you are near a Goodwill drop off location you won’t go “Oh man, I forgot the donations”.

Shop with Goodwill

Shopping with Goodwill will do more than just keep that coin in your pocket, shopping with Goodwill creates job for people in your community. I love being able to try new trends without committing with a large amount of money, trends are often repeated over and over through out the years so they can always be found in your local Goodwill.

A few things I’ve been on the hunt for & found lately are maxi dresses (for summer days I don’t want to shave my legs), colorful plaid & gingham (always a hit for spring/summer), pieces with a bit of tropical flair and one of my favorites…straw bags! All these bags I’ve picked up on trips to Goodwill & I almost always am able to spot a few on any given Goodwill trip!

  1. Love this! I didn’t realize how much you could do for and find at the Goodwill until a few months ago! I was dropping some baby stuff off and decided to look around. Found a few things while
I was there! I love the items you found!
