Over the weekend I hosted a breakfast & thrifting meet up with a fellow thrift, Brandy. We decided on Wednesday, that instead of just us meeting up for breakfast & thrifting in Houston we would open it up to others to join us. I am asked daily about my favorite places to shop, how one would get into thrifting & pretty much any thrifting question you could ever have. So I thought this would be a perfect thing to hang out with fellow thrifters & those wanting to get into the thrift game. To my shock, we had an amazing turn out for such a last minute meet up!! I mean I expected one RSVP & zero show ups. We had a dozen women thrifting together!!
I was a ball of nerves. Seriously. I had a nightmare the night before that my dress became sheer & everyone could see my black underwear. And that morning I made sure I wore nude underwear…you know just in case my skirt was see through? HA!
I planned for us to all meet up at Fluff Bake Bar in midtown. They have a new menu every Saturday morning & never disappoint. The very talented Bryan Caswell was the man of the hour at Fluff! His menu & food was all SO amazing!! Insert 5 million of the heart eye emoji guy, along with moans around the table with every bite of his food & you have a slight idea of what his breakfast menu was like. Breakfast was amazing, sitting around chatting with these wonderful women I got to meet through Instagram!
After breakfast, we all rushed to one of my favorite Houston thrift stores, the Salvation Army on Washington street. And oh my goodness! I think EVERYONE scored big on the deals! I was AMAZED at everyone’s amazing finds!! Everything from couture to vintage to a bit funky fun!
I sadly didn’t get as many pictures as I would have liked & forget to check my camera settings & ended up with lots of blurry pictures. Next time, next time I’ll be better. Oh. Did I forget to mention? There WILL be another meet up! 😉 And next time I’ll manage to get a picture with my wonderful co-host…I mean how did a picture together not even happen for us?!
