I’ve talked about how I focus on wellness for the whole family but I’ve gone off track of diet/exercise in the past month or so. And I can feel it, when I don’t take care of myself I feel completely different. My mind gets foggy & a little sad, my body feels soft & not so strong, my patience grows thin and all around it just makes a huge difference in my day to day life.

So when I say diet/exercise, I don’t mean some extreme diet where I’m not eating what I want & exercising hours a day. I want to clean up my eating habits a bit, I’ve been eating way too many of the foods I know I should only eat in moderation. So what helps me a ton is counting macros, I mainly focus on getting enough protein in through out the day but also staying under my Carbs & Fat (which I’ll usually max out 😉 ). This way I’m not starving but I’m keeping my weight healthy. I’m not looking to lose weight, I just would like my body a bit firmer (don’t we all?!) so with a healthy balanced diet, I am dedicating myself to work out twice a week (at least 30 mins) for the first month.

My favorite way to work out is doing a mixture of weights & the row machine, thankfully my husband has equipped our home gym with pretty much anything I could ever need to work out so really my excuses are limited. I also love yoga but the price tag of frequent classes isn’t something I want to worry about right now. Since I usually work out & am out the door to run errands I have to be thoughtful about my workout attire. I’ve been wearing these Caraway Leggings that prAna sent me (in top picture) almost every workout & I’ll throw over the Deedra Sweater over when running errands (I grabbed the dark plum, pic below. Both have been holding up so well & I plan to take them on our upcoming hiking trips!

prAna gave me a coupon code to share for 15% off your order, Use code MMPDF17 for 15% your entire order.

And when we talk about wellness, we can’t leave out the soul. I need to be more active in feeding my soul, I’ve downloaded the First 5 app in hopes of dedicating a portion of my day to feeding my soul & my relationship with God. If you have a good devotional journal, let me know!
