85C Bakery Cafe has been highly anticipated & had finally opened it’s doors to Houston today. I’ve heard it referred to the Starbucks of Taiwan. And let me tell you, Starbucks has nothing on this fresh arrival to Houston. It was the 1000th global location for this bakery. I wasn’t sure what to expect..so here we go.
With Micah in tow, we hit up the grand opening of 85c Bakery Cafe in Houston! He was so excited, he loves bakeries, he loves learning about Asian cultures and he always loves going somewhere new to eat. I mean what else could a foodie loving mama ask for?
First, when you get there you jump in line for the baked goods which you pile up on the tray. (TIP: Grab a tray, tongs & wax paper. These are all in one station) And then just go wild, everything is labeled & gives the ingredients in the baked good. Next one head over to the wrapping station, where a 85c Bakery Cafe employee will wrap up all your baked goods before you head to the register. Head to the register where you can also order drinks.
I grabbed the much talked about Sea Salt Coffee & Micah opted for a Strawberry slush. The coffee was everything I hoped for, not over complicated with lots of junk. 85c Bakery Cafe makes its Sea Salt Coffee with Americano coffee, sea salt and sweet cream. And it was PERFECT for this blistering July morning.
Some of the things we picked out & have already devoured include the chocolate bread with cream cheese, mushroom bread, macaroons, brioche, Match Red Bean cake rolls, a tuxedo cake & Micah just HAD to have these cheese hot dogs wrapped in bread! One thing that I can’t wait to go back for? The mushroom bread, it’s a savory bread with onions, mushrooms and cheese. It seems simple by 85C Bakery Cafe did some sort of magic because it had my mushroom hating son devouring it right alongside of me. And while I can go on and on about how much I loved it all…I won’t, just go. Seriously, if you aren’t in Houston…see if you have one near on their site.
And HELLO! Look at that cute stuffed brioche they were giving out if you spent $10. Micah totally loves it!
