I’ve seen them year after year in the Pottery Barn catalog, I’ve thought time after time how helpful they could be. But could never even dare of paying full price for them. The daily system components. Yep. I’m sure you’ve seen it if you’ve ever flipped through a PB catalog.
Well as I was making my way home from work one day I had this urge to stop by a Goodwill that I usually walk away empty handed from. But that urge was strong, so I got off the freeway 3 exits early. Decided to start a time so I would only spend 20 minutes in the store & right away I saw these beauties. For $5/piece! I didn’t even need to turn them over, I knew they were the same PB daily system components I had wanted so many times before. I snatched up the four pieces they had & promptly brought them home to show my husband. And then I let them sit…..for almost a year. I even took pictures of them covered in dust to prove this to you.
Well with the school year in full blown learning mode & a baby…I need to get these things UP. I decided to just use the two on the right & put the left two in the garage.
First I pulled off the hardware on the top that requires you to buy some more pieces from PB..for $20/piece. Should I paint? Shouldn’t I paint? That’s the question. That’s ALWAYS the question.
I painted. Using my trusty Valspar spray paint, I painted these beauties white. And the hardware gold…even the ant sized screws. SO MUCH BETTER. Now just to make some cute labels during my next nap time break 😉
